Hey there, vintage lover! We’re Birgit and Bernd — your soon-to-be favorite Hummel figurines. Technically, our official names are “Girl with Sheet Music” (#389) and “Boy with Accordion” (#390), but let’s be real — that’s too formal. We’re way more fun than that.
We’ve been making mantels merrier and shelves sweeter since the 1970s — smiling quietly, always side by side, keeping each other company through the years.
🎨 From a Nun’s Sketchbook to Your Shelf
We’re part of the M.I. Hummel family, created by Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel — artist, dreamer, and the reason porcelain ever looked this good. She may have left us a long time ago, but her art lives on (hi, that’s us).
Born in Germany, we made our way to the U.S. sometime in the mid-’70s. We’ve seen things, friend — cabinets, curious kids, even a dog once (don’t ask). But through it all, we’ve stayed side by side — Birgit with her sheet music, Bernd with his accordion, both ready to bring a little harmony wherever we go.
📦 Ready for Our Next Gig
These days, we’re hanging out on Kim’s shelf, humming our silent tunes and dreaming of our next big adventure. Maybe that’s with you?
If you “adopt” us, we’ll bring a dash of vintage sweetness to your home — whether that’s a sunny kitchen windowsill, a cozy bookshelf, or a spot right beside your favorite record player.
When it’s time to travel, Kevin or Amanda will give us the full VIP treatment — careful wrapping, foam “peanuts” (they don't have any flavor), and a first-class ticket via postal service. We’re hoping for a window seat this time.
So… what do you say? Ready to let two little German icons crash your display case? We promise not to make a mess (unless you try to make us eat those 'peanuts').
